After the opening of the Suez Canal, the port of Brindisi had a new life starting from the historic Indian statement that connected London with Bombay. In 1887 Francesco Zaccaria began his commercial activity closely linked to the port and then in 1914 he became a maritime agent especially for the Deutsche Linee of Hamburg. The F.Zaccaria company, for this specific sector, was managed by his son Guido.

Subsequently his grandson Francesco extended the ground assistance activity to the aircrafts that climbed at the international Brindisi airport for technical reasons before jet’s time. The present company Zaccaria & C. was founded by the Francesco in 1982, together with Giuseppe Gorgoni and Evonio Indiano. Currently directors are Evonio Indiano and Francesco Zaccaria, the latter legal representative.
